Hear Dent May's New Track "Why I Came to California"
Dent May’s self-produced version of “Why I Came to California” is out today. The track is a cover of Leon’s Ware’s 1982 original, and the title is especially apropos for Mississippi-raised May, who now resides in California.
On the day of the track’s release, Dent shared the following background to this track with Weirdo Music Forever:
“This is the first thing I've finished at my new studio Honeymoon Suite in Los Angeles. The Leon Ware track has sort of been my anthem since I moved out here 4 years ago. Think of this as an appetizer for the next album, which I promise I'm working hard on every day.”
While we eagerly await the aforementioned album, we’re thoroughly enjoying the “appetizer” that is “Why I Came to California”.
