Maraschino Shares New Track "True Lover"

Maraschino just shared her new track “True Lover” with Weirdo Music Forever, and we couldn’t be happier with what we’re hearing. Here at WMF we’ve been anticipating new music from Maraschino since the last time we officially spoke with her, and our patience has been rewarded with what is surely destined to be one of our favorite tracks of the summer.

“True Lover” is connected to an upcoming album that Maraschino (the musical moniker of Piper Durabo) is currently making with Chris Coady. The new Piper-penned gem is produced, mixed, and mastered by Coady, and features guitar work courtesy John Anderson.

We asked Maraschino for some background to the track, and she offered the following:

"I wrote this song last year after a particularly catastrophic break-up, which inspired me to flip through the Rolodex of all of my past relationships for a review. I think I was convinced some of these people might be the ‘one’ and gave them permission to bulldoze me in exchange for their ‘love.’ That said, I don’t consider myself a victim or anything. Maybe more like a lion-hearted explorer of Dating Hell, and a little bit of a hopeless romantic."
