Celeste X has shared her cinematic new single “First Bite” just in time for Halloween. Celeste X is a name both dear and familiar here at WMF, and we’re always delighted any time we are fortunate enough to catch up with her. We spent some quality time with Celeste X at the new WMF HQ location to take some seasonal snaps and she graciously followed up with insightful context to “First Bite”.

Celeste X shared this info about “First Bite” and her upcoming plans exclusively with WMF:

“‘First Bite’ feels like an evolution for me sonically and it’s something I’m very proud of. I’ve been living in Chicago off and on this whole year. When I’m away from the comforts of California I find creating to be the best coping mechanism and this is the first song I finished in the Midwest. I love writing songs with a big mood and I wanted this song to sound like a sultry 80’s vampire movie. I also learned how to incorporate the vocoder in this track and mixing the old school saxophone vibe with something more current was fun for me to do. I even used a sample of a human a heartbeat for the kick drum, I really went in with the details in how I wanted this song to sound.

I feel more focused than I’ve ever been these days, I’ve gained a lot of clarity through traveling and taking some time to rest. I can’t wait to release all the new tracks I’ve been working on! Hopefully 2023 will be the year I can release my first official LP.”
