We thrilled to attend the Italians Do It Better holiday party December 22 at Grandmaster Recorders in Hollywood. Megan Louise of Desire and IDIB kept the dance floor delighted the entire time we were there, and we were lucky enough to pull crucial curator Los Angela, Megan Louise, and legend Johnny Jewel away from the festivities just long enough for a few seasonal snaps. Earlier in the evening, Glüme performed host duties and Mothermary contributed to the special event’s DJ roster.

Besides the fabulous people who populated it December 22, The Grandmaster Recorders space itself is an historic one, having been the recording session location for luminaries including David Bowie, Ringo Starr, Stevie Wonder, and Beck (to name just a few), all according to the Grandmaster Recorders website. Understandably, then, the celebration of both the past and present was palpable during the holiday party.

We were even able to get one of our first holiday gifts — a vinyl copy of the highly-recommended Sally Shapiro full-length, Sad Cities. IDIB has been an integral part of what made 2022 so special to us, and we’re already eagerly anticipating what the iconic collective gets up to in 2023
