RECAP: NIIS Live Show at Braindead Studios Fairfax June 9, 2022
NIIS is one of the most all-out energizing and rewarding live bands in Los Angeles (and beyond) these days, so we jumped at the chance to see the four-piece in action on Thursday, June 9. Frontwoman Mimi Doe’s onstage craft is as formidable as it is rare, and worth the price of admission in and of itself. That said, NIIS’ musicianship if flawlessly unrelenting, and deftly meets the high bar set by Doe.
The night’s festivities all took place at Braindead Studios Fairfax, making it the first punk show we’ve ever experienced in a movie-theater setting. NIIS kicked off the later portion of yesterday’s GAG doubleheader, and we have a strong sense that people will be remembering and talking about the remarkable NIIS set for years to come.
