World Premiere: Midnight Prisms Shares New Video "Picture of the End"

Midnight Prisms has exclusively shared her new “Picture of the End” video with us, which we are delighted to premiere here at WMF. Directed by Luke Carr, this dreamy video perfectly complements its fantastic corresponding track, which Midnight Prisms (aka Alicia Beck) co-wrote with producer Jon Gilbert. Fun fact: “Picture of the End” also features a flute solo courtesy Alicia’s mom, Nina Beck, making the track a family affair.

Midnight Prisms shared the following insights with us about “Picture of the End”:

“Shortly after my ex and I broke up, a photo of us that I had pinned to my wall abruptly fell down on its own. “Picture of the end” refers to the moment the photo is seen lying on the floor, no longer in its right place, being viewed from an entirely new perspective. I took it as a cosmic confirmation from the universe that the relationship was over, because up until that point, it hadn’t fully sunk in. My mind tends to find symbolism in these kinds of events that are often overlooked, and are usually the catalysts for many of my metaphor-filled songs.

I currently live in Los Angeles, but decided it would be appropriate to shoot the video in Brooklyn, NY since that’s where the relationship began and ultimately ended. The day of the shoot took place in the middle of August, so the weather was predictably gross; i.e; hot, humid and cloudy. Initially we were hoping to shoot outside in the sunshine, but decided to shoot at my friends studio instead. Despite being slightly irritated with mother nature, the gray clouds and harsh lighting from the bright sky mirrored the sentiment in the song much better than any sunny day could.”
