Active Decay Shares Debut Single "I Really Love You" Ahead of Debut 2022 Album

Active Decay’s debut single “I Really Love You” is out now and available on all platforms, and we’re especially excited about this one here at WMF. Brooke Prince of Active Decay recently came over to WMH HQ with collaborator Wyatt Blair, and we were delighted by what we heard about — and by — this new project. The “I Really Love You” single bodes for the upcoming Active Decay debut album, which we understand is slated for a November 18 release.

We asked Brooke for additional information and insights into “I Really Love You” and upcoming Active Decay releases, and she graciously shared the following exclusive information with us:

Active Decay began when a friend in Astrologer, Kristin, invited me to do backing vocals at Lolipop Records for one of their songs. There I recorded with the band and met Wyatt [Blair]. We clicked right away, especially after realizing our shared love for 80s music and synthesizers. Kristin and Drew of Astrologer proposed the idea that we work together and we’ve been making music since. While working on the album, we also got to collaborate with talented musicians Don Bolles, Jason Farr and Billy Trujillo.”

Brooke also added:

“[The] ‘I Really Love You’ music video was produced and edited by Fred Joseph and Renata Polli. I was so happy that Fred wanted to work on the music video as everything he does has style and he’s amazing at capturing peoples individuality and essence.

The song was one of my favorites to record on the album. [It was] just one of those times where the ideas came together quickly and everyone was having fun. The moody, romantic tones already gave it so much meaning. The music is very dreamlike and visual, so writing the lyrics was effortless.”
