Bambina Gets Vulnerable and Raw with Sultry New Single "Soft Heat"
Bambina has shared new single and title track “Soft Heat” from her upcoming EP, which is set for a June 2 release. Written by Bambina and co-written & produced by Rocci, the 80s-tinged pop gem is a fresh departure in the ever-evolving world of Bambina, and the result of her collaborative Miami visit with Mikey the Magician & Rocci. Bambina fans that we are here at WMF, the “Soft Heat” single release is welcome news, and our understanding is that a video for the track is forthcoming.
We were both curious and excited about this new side of Bambina, and she graciously shared the following insights into “Soft Heat” exclusively with WMF:
During my first session with Mikey, he invited Rocci to lay down some guitar on another song and we ended up vibing really well. He became a pillar to this EP, and "Soft Heat" was our first song we wrote together during my second trip to Miami.
I wrote this song during an amazing time in my life where I had been ~alone~ for over a year and a half and really saw myself in a beautiful, hopeful light. The lyrics come from a healthy place and are almost a mantra on taking things slow and exploring new love's potential.
The song starts off a bit timid and nurturing, i.e. "I can't take your pain away easily / but I swear I'll make it sweet / I don't wanna say too much". Then, Bambina changes her tone when the song picks up i.e. "Can I get a bit of that? / I know I may seem terrified / But I think we'll get it right". The song rides the line between yin/yang, sweet/sexy and shy/bold.
I would wake up and walk to get coffee in Coral Gables before hitting the studio. Listening to my demos, I couldn't believe how much "Soft Heat" matched the environment. To me, that song sounds like how Miami feels. It felt very honest and pure. That trip, we worked for 8 days straight. It was hard work and true bliss.
