Bambina Breaks Free with New Single "Anyway U Want It"
L.A. artist Bambina just shared her new single “Anyway U Want It” with us, continuing what has already been a productive year in the world of Bambina. Hot on the heels of last month’s “Soft Heat” single, follow-up single “Anyway U Want It” immediately invites repeated plays and somehow feels both fresh and familiar at the same time. Brief and bouncy, this brand new and recommended Bambina offering gets straight to point and never wears out its welcome.
We asked the multi-talented Andrea Adolph aka Bambina for some insights into “Anyway U Want It”, and she graciously shared the following exclusive info with us:
"Anyway U Want It" is the second single off Bambina's upcoming EP, Soft Heat. This song was recorded during her first session in Miami with producers Mikey the Magician & Rocci.
My first couple of days in Miami, I soaked in the city as much as I could. I walked around a lot and recorded voice memos of melodies & lyrics. The night before recording "Anyway U Want It", my friend took me to a Key West beach bar, where 80s music was playing and the sun was setting. We drank with the owner for hours and I felt such a rush getting to know new people in a romantic & unfamiliar environment that somehow felt homey to me. My friend drove me back to where I was staying in Coconut Grove, blasting "Steal my Sunshine" by Len. I literally recorded most of this song with a chunk of pineapple stuck in my throat from a piña colada I drank that night.
This song is a fun & positive take on breaking free from the shackles of a failing love. The only question Bambina asks in this song is "Do you want a future or another fantasy?" Other than that, she effortlessly loves herself enough to let go of a situation with a person who is inconsistent and gives mixed signals. The lyrics celebrate rejection in a spirit that is reminiscent of "U Don't Have to Call" by Usher. A couple of other songs that inspired me for "Anyway U Want It" were "Paradise" by Sade and "All Night Long (All Night)" by Lionel Richie.
