Ulfraflex Shares New Single & Video "Rhodos" : An Irresistible Ode to Northern European Tourists Partying in Southern Europe

Ultraflex —WMF’s favorite Icelandic-Norwegian semi-sibling synth duo— is back just in time for a pre-summer warm-up with brand new single and video “Rhodos” (out now via Street Pulse). Here at WMF, we’ve been pretty avid fans of the pair (who also work individually as Special-K and Farao) since encountering their fantastic debut single “Olympic Sweat” in 2020. We thoroughly enjoyed our in-depth interview with them a couple years ago, and have gratefully kept in close touch with the dynamic duo via premieres, top tracks lists, and assorted check-ins from across the Atlantic.

According to Ultraflex, the new single is “an ode to tourists partying in the South of Europe (Mallorca, Ibiza, Rhodes)” and the duo offered the following background to “Rhodos”:

“[The track] was written in deep pandemic, when we were desperately craving to party. Longing after people yelling in our ears, everyone bumping into each other, stepping on our toes and the sensation of cold beer flowing down our backs. Writing ‘Rhodos’ immediately transported us to a hot and sticky beach, a place we loved and loathed equally."

The “Rhodos” track perfectly pairs with its esthetically-on-point music video, which was filmed in Greece and directed by Sigurlaug Gísladóttir (aka Mr. Silla). In addition to the new music and video, Ultraflex made our day by sending a photo set of exclusives for WMF, which we are thrilled to share here.
